Horrible treatment @ the hands of Brolink (Santam)

I was involved in an accident in May 2013 with a person insured by Santam through Brolink. On Tuesday 28 January 2014, I received a letter from a law firm advising me I have been handed over for failing to pay for the repairs of the other party's car and have 7 days to pay R7000. This was the first communication I had had regarding claims of any nature related to this accident. When I stated that I had not received any communication regarding this in 8 months, the recovery agent proceeded to tell me that Brolink advised them that they had sent a letter to my address and had not received any response. A letter. Not even a registered letter. I have not received any communication WHATSOEVER, even though they had ALL my details - phone numbers, email addresses, even my parents phone numbers for in case they couldn't get hold of me! I am absolutely appalled at this kind of treatment - I feel like I am being treated like a criminal purely because they didn't bother to follow up. Had they done their jobs, my financial adviser would have sorted this out months ago, and instead they hand me over for failing to pay.
