I emailed FNB about a issue I had at one of the branches regarding false information being given to me regarding a loan. I wanted to Rant about this but the way FNB responded was almost worse than the act itself (which cost me money that I did not plan for due the consultant selling me something based on the wrong information). This is the second time that FNB sent me the following response:

Kindly refer back to your branch or phone 0861276937 for assistance as this is a branch product and can be dealt with on their level only.

So If I have issue with a branch I have to go back to the incompetent people who provided me with the wrong information? Wow... That's sound logic. And why provide me with a telephone number to phone where I will just be referred back to the branch anyway?

I am a big fan of FNB and I have always promoted it to others...
These incidents make me start thinking that I should put some caution to the wind in the future when someone asks me whether FNB is any good.

I sometimes wonder whether I would have these same issues at Standard Bank.
