Nedbank Home Loan insurance wont pay

I logged a claim with Nedbank 2 weeks ago as we had a problem between our City Power connection and our DB Board in the house. This resulted in an explosion and our gate motor, alarm, electric fensing and intercom being damaged.

My husband logged a complaint with Nedbank Home Loans as this is covered under our home insurance.

Nedbank has now come back and refused to pay for this claim. We have been advised that we need to contact City of JHB and claim for this.

City of JHB will not pay out - as what happens from the Electricity board to our house is not their problem.

I will take this further. If you have insurance, and you have a car that is, and the person gets caught, you do not have to claim the money from the, even though you have paid your premium.

Nedbank - please arrange an ombudsman contact me as I require that this be taken further. You are welcome to try and get this money out of City of JHB if you believe that it is their problem, but I am insured by you, so you have a responsibility to put me in my original position. I will also contact a lawyer in the mean time, and if this is not resolved by tomorrow morning - you may become liable for more costs.
