I have never in my live felt so insulted by a bank, like I have now with Standard bank! Especially with their vehicle and asset finance department.
Last year I wanted to trade my car which is currently financed with standard bank, for a newer model. And they approved it. I declined the offer due to the vehicle service plan. Now I decided I want to try again! And guess what? Yes they declined my application. Nothing changed with my finances. In fact I paid off some bills and now I have even more disposable income. And its not as if my car is in arrears. I want to swap my old one for a new. Car..that is a reasonable price and won't cost more than the one I have now. But standard bank has this useless system that decide for you. And they know more than the client what he can afford or not. I pay for my car now! So will be able to pay for the other one! And don't expect a call back, no! They don't even do that. The just update on the report so they can look good. Wake up standard bank! You won't keep clients this way. I hope other people read this, and stop using Standard bank vehicle finance.
