Rediculous Bank Charges on Savings account

I had a look at my bank statement recently to discover that I am being charged crazy amounts for Debit orders and EFT payments off my savings account.

What is the point of putting money in the bank if I am going to be charged so much for having it there?

I am being charged over R10 for an eft not including sending out a proof of payment, and as for my debit orders, well lets not even go there.

They should call savings actually expense account as I am spending almost R300 per month in bank charges just to pay my bills.
