Wrtting off a car and not paying the bank

I was involved in a car accident on the 26/10/2013 i reported to my insurance Idirect & they came & towed the car for repairs and they said the cost for repairs was to high so they wrote it off. For a while they kept quiet without feedbacks on the progress they only called me on the 24th December 2013 to tell me that they are not going to pay anything to the bank as i still owe the bank.
Themba Manganyi "loss adjuster" wrote an sms to me saying " please note that your claim has been completed and the claim has been repudiated based on the all the facts i gave you. The letter will follow detailing all and also your vehicle will be towed back to you. Themba Absa idirect 0825584916".
To my surprise the car has not even reached my house yet, Im now stressed because im still paying the bank without a car. Themba said the accident was my fault that its why they will not PAY the bank (Wesbank).this people are still holding my car as we speak i don't even know what they doing with it until this time from the 30 October 2013 till today 20 January 2014
