Absa
Unable to transfer funds without going to a branch

Business & Finance

I have been a client of Absa for many years. I often use my Cellphone Lite Banking. I do not however use my Internet Banking as often, but have all my passwords written down.

This morning I tried to use my online banking, as I have to transfer money urgently, and am pressurised for time at work. Upon trying to log in (after multiple tries), my card was blocked. I then contacted the call-centre, who advised me that I would have to go to a branch. I then rushed there, only to be told that my card had expired and that I needed to replace it. I agreed and I received my new card. At the branch, my pin was also reset to enable me to use my online banking.

Back at the office, I tried to enter my Online Banking again. Again, even though I had just been to the branch to reset my card and ensure I had the right pin, I still got blocked after multiple tries.

I then phoned Telephone Banking to make the transfer manually, but was also told my account was blocked and that they could not help me, and that I would have to go to a branch. Again.

I urgently need to get my money transferred, and am becoming a bit frustrated- which way do I turn now?
