Nedbank home insurance is a joke

Over the past 4 months I have been having a challenge with nedbank home insurance where I had a leaking roof and reported the matter. After a week a contractor visited the premises to inspect the damage and a report was submitted to which nedbank claims they will not assist as the damages was a result of defective workmanship and I had to fix it myself. Now if nedbank gives me an occupation certificate for the house the surely this means that the house was inspected and handed overnight. But no I am now told that they won't assist as I should have pulled all the tiles off the roof myself and checked that there was no defective workmanship!!!

How can I be expected to remove the tiles from the roof to check if there are any leaks when nedbank and they inspector gave me a certificate of occupation. This is insane and I want to warn anyone with a nedbank home loan and home insurance to be very very careful when it comes to claiming for any damages. You need to ensure your builder did a correct job as nedbank, after having given you an occupation certificate, will not assume any responsibility for any damages.
