Excuses for "correct" payout

After not being able to get hold of anyone regarding my vehicle accident claim I lodged a complaint on HelloPeter last week Thursday and low and behold a manager contacts me on Friday. And gives me a long explanation of what is due to me. And yes I received the money the Saturday. So good for that.
But when asked why I did not receive the amount that was initially emailed to me, I was told that the year model of the vehicle was 2004 on the records but when they received the reg papers from the Bank it showed 2003. So less was due to me... how convenient right!!!???
So I asked why the vehicle is then taken in for assessment when the car is insured for the first time. And he reckons to me it was because they only check the VIN number... How Shocking!!!
Outsurance big time. So then they should reimburse me for incorrectly charging me premiums for a 2004 vehicle instead of a 2003 right??? I DON"T THINK SO... once again passing the buck to the CLIENT
