In March 2013, my card was swallowed by an ATM and the Randburg branch issued me with a new card. Shortly after I noticed that I was charged a "per item fee" every time the card was swiped. This was unusual as it is a Savvy account and had unlimited free electronic transactions & I was never previously charged.

I made numerous calls to Nedbank's contact centre & visited 2 Nedbank branches but no one was able to tell me what the "per item fee" was in respect of. Months later the Cresta branch finally advised me that the account profile had incorrectly been changed to a pay as you go structure when the new card was issued by the Randburg branch. The Cresta branch then reinstated the Savvy structure and advised me to contact the Randburg branch with regards to the refund of the fees.

The Randburg branch subsequently advised that there was no evidence of the incorrect profile on their side & the fees were in respect of prepaid airtime! This is impossible as I did not purchase prepaid airtime on that account.

I am utterly disgusted with Nedbank's service, months later this matter has still not been resolved & I have been charged almost R600 in unneccesary bank charges.
