First National Bank
Overcharging for Smart devices

Business & Finance

FNB finally released the Samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition as a option on their Smart device offer.

FNB now sells the lower 3G model (SM-P601) for R359 month over 24 months for the device only. At the same time MTN offers the top of the range LTE model (SM-P605) for R369 month with 500mb plus 500mb night over 24 month contract so it includes 24Gb of data.

FNB used to supply smart devices at reduced rates to assist their customers in using their online banking facilities. It seems now that they have gone the same root as all the other service providers and would rather just make money from their customers.

Why must FNB only supply the lower model at a premium price. MTN does not discriminate what bank you are with and will not force you open a FNB account to qualify for a overpriced smart device.

FNB overcharges its customers for the lower model devices and is now longer focused on customer service but instead on making as much money from its customer base as possible.

Lets hope with Standard Banks new rewards program they will be doing a better job of rewarding its customers unlike FNB that is only interested in what they can get out of their customers
