First National Bank
DotFNB selling old stock for new prices

Business & Finance

I went to the dotFNB store in Cavendish square to purchase a new 13" Macbook Air 2013 model as advertised on the fnb website.

Staff were very friendly and efficient however they are completely unaware (or don't care) that they are selling last years models which you can acquire elsewhere for much lower prices. The fnb website displays the new product for R575pm yet they are selling the old one for this exact price, this is simply false advertising.

I managed to find out before opening the box but still had to drive to Cavendish twice on Saturday (from Tableview!) as I only realised the mistake on opening the bag. This has cost me a lot in petrol and wasted my entire day.

This store must either send these devices back to the supplier and get the new devices (as listed on the website) or they must make customers fully aware that the product is outdated (which I was not).

I was told to order online if I wanted the proper model, I have done this now but means I will be waiting a lot longer and also will have to pay another R150 for delivery. My last experience with smart device deliver was also very unpleasant and took over a month so I would much rather collect myself.
