On 25 July 2013 my house in van dyk park boksburg burned down, reported the matter to insurance and a loss adjuster (Justice from Jenkinson) was send to check and administer the claim.also quantity surveyor and forensic expect came. I waited for 3months for reports and insurance to finalise the claim, after many calls and emails send the loss adjuster informed me that my property was under insured therefor the is a penalty which result from the quantity surveyor's valuation (R1 961 883) and sum insured (R1 282 360).which i have a query as the:-
* bank /insurer are the ones who determine the value of the property.
*valuation was done early in the year and was increased from R1 001 000 to R 1 282 360
*the banks valuation after the house burned is higher than when the house was fine in the same year where there were no improvements???
*alternative rental was only paid up to October
I have send mails to the insurance and no response my claim still outstading
