NEDBANK ALLOWS PAYMENT ON CLOSED ACCOUNT

I closed all my accounts with Nedbank Private during September/October 2013.
Today I received notice from a 3rd party that payment had been made (on my closed account) on 27 Dec 2013.
I phoned Nedbank and they confirmed that ALL my accounts are closed, but Nedbank still allows payment on my closed cards - WHY NEDBANK OH WHY?
