I had a break in at my house on the 16th of October 2013. I phoned Standardbank Insurance to register the claim.
As the gate and door was completely broken into, an assessor was sent out on the same day to do emergency repairs and do the necessary assessing of the damaged goods.
Later that week contractors (Band B Contracting appointed by Standardbank Insurance) did come out to start fixing some of the damaged doors and gates. I was told that the wooden front door would have to be completely replaced as it was completely broken, with which I agreed. A date of 5 weeks to make the doors was given to me.
Last week (7 weeks later already) I had to phone Standardbank Insurance and Band B to find out what is taking so long. I was told that they are still waiting for someone else to deliver the door. Later that week someone from another contractor came to measure the door and said they still had to make the door. That is 7 weeks later and I was told 5 weeks and they still have to make the door???
By the end of this week it would have been 8 weeks and I have heard nothing from Standardbank Insurance or Band-C Contraction regarding this. Again I had to phone to find out what is happening.
