I recently moved into a new apartment and need household insurance.
After receiving a phonecall from an Outsurance consultant, i was told that i cannot be offered insurance during the month of December (until 15 Jan), due to a safegaurd. I would only be offered insurance against damage. This is because people take out the policy then cancel it after their holiday.
After explaining to the consultant i am looking to buy this policy for at least a year (my lease is a year), so im not going to cancel it, the consultant then rejected this and would not change the offer.
I understand i am a new customer, but the entire point of me getting household insurance is not only for damage but for as well. I find this unreasonable that i am not offered insurance in December when i am looking to have this policy till December 2014.
After explaining I was not interested unless they include for December, the consultant propmptly tries to sell me car insurance. Thanks for not offering me what i want, and then trying to make a quick buck off another product i was not even calling about.
I will be taking my money elsewhere.
