My salary date changed from September 2013 and I contacted Metropolitan in October to ensure they change my debit order date. I was unfortunately stupid enough not to take the call centre operator's name down that I spoke to.. I do however remember very clearly double checking with her if it has been changed and if it reflects on the system and she agreed that the change is effective from October and my next debit order date will be the 1st of November. I was then debited on the 25th of October and my debit order returned, with me then having to pay a R 115 rtd fee with my bank. Metropolitan did not even have the courtesy to call me when the debit order returned and I only found out about today when I saw on my bank statement that I was double debited on the 27th of November. Luckily I had money in my account this time. I called them again to find out why my debit order is not going off on the 1st and all the operator said was "there is no record of you speaking to anyone" NO apology at all. I then asked how must I now be sure that it will be changed this time and she says I must call back in two days time to check. Really? Its my job to check that you do yours?
