I have a loan with African Bank. On the 29/11/2013 African Bank deducted my account twice for an amount of R675.96 which meant that I was debited an amount of R1351.92 instead of the agreed R675.96 monthly installment. I contacted African Bank Call Centre and spoke to Onnica who advised me that it was a mistake and they will refund me one amount of R675.96. She requested that I send through my ID copy and bank statement which I did immediatley. On Monday 02/12/2013 I contacted African Bank to find out how far were they with the refund and I was informed by Keneth that they will not be processing the refund. He informed that African Bank had the authority and Legal Consent to go into Customers Accounts and deduct any amount of money that they choose. Keneth advised me that this was legal and this is how African Bank conducts its business with its customers. I am now laying a formal complaint against African Bank and request that an amount of R675.96 be refunded to me Immediately as this is not what we had agreed on. I am also disgusted at the Service I received, it is emberassing to see how they have handled this.
