Debt Consolidation

Fnb send me the advert"Consolidate your debt with FNB", I spoke to the agent who she kept on asking me to be patient as she is doing the settlement agreement with African bank. At the end she told me _ R4600.00 will be paid to African bank and I will get _ R1500.00 left in my account, that was the day as I needed _ R1000.00 in a flash. We concluded the deal with prive e-mail to me that African bank debt settled.

Come month- end African bank debit hot on my heels, Asked Fnb now what is this, they told me the matter is between me and African bank as african bank put incorrect amount on ITC.
African bank then insist I owe them and Fnb now is telling me about terms and condition which I, the man in the street fail to understand if one is told about debt consolidation, does it mean no more debt with African bank or does it mean now two debt where I owe FNB and African bank.
Do we run the customer down by playing them fools in promising the solution whiles we are actually financially killing them?
