Claims seems to be ignored

On Tuesday, 12 November I submitted an on-line query. On Wednesday, 13 November 2013 I received my claim number. As I was not contacted within 48 hours, I called and was assured my claim was given to a person who will contact me shortly. Please note that I first had to listen to MANY minutes of 'your call is important ...' before the call was eventually answered.
Called again today to find out what is going on but after 15 minutes of listening to how important my call is, I hung up.
I understand that many claims were submitted after the thunderstorms we had the last two weeks but surely somebody should have contacted me by now?
At this stage I do not know what is the most frustrating task, to get a response to my claim or to find a new home owners insurer which I am definitely busy hunting for!
