I completed an online application form to join Essentialmed. On 29 October 2013 I received an SMS to state that my application had been successful. I was informed that a welcome pack would be sent go me and the first deduction would go off on 1 November 2013. On 7 November I contacted Essentialmed to inform them that the deduction had not been taken off nor had my welcome pack arrived. I was told, after speaking to the third person, that the lady dealing with the welcome pack would phone me back and that the deduction would go off that night at 12am.

The lady never contacted me, the welcome pack never received and the deduction has never been taken off. I lodged another written complaint but this too has been ignored. So much for immediate emergency cover. My son and I were involved in a car accident a few months back and I wanted peace of mind that my son would now be covered in the evnt another emergency would arise.

As a nurse myself and a qualified psychological counsellor, it's shocking the lack of professionalism offered by a medical insurance. I shudder to think what a claim procedure would involve if it takes this much effort just to join.
