I was at the Chatsworth Branch today at 15h00. All i wanted to do was transfer money into an FNB account but have the funds cleared immediately via internet banking (I was told by the Service Desk that was impossible via that method). The transaction was to be made to fly my deceased dads body from Cape Town to Durban for the funeral.

I was directed to the tellers to withdraw cash. I waited at the Tellers and at 15h13 went to the counter. I was told that the tellers were closed and was directed to the Bulk Tellers. The staff were busy chatting and laughing. They were oblivious to the growing number of people in the queue at the Bulk Tellers. At one stage there were about 15 people in the queue (give or take the 15 people that left the bank due to the long wait.

The staff need serious urgent Training in Customer Service as well as Etiquette and Professionalism.

I am a visitor in Durban and would never receive Pathetic and Disappointing Service like this in Cape Town. The Branch needs the staff to be rotated as it is obvious they have forgotten that they are providing a service and are getting paid for such a service.

They eventually reopened the Tellers after Complaints.
