Hi there,

I have a home loan with Standard Bank and as a result of this my building insurance is with Standard Bank Insurance Brokers. As we all do, on a monthly basis my insurance premiums are paid in full to Standard Bank Insurance Brokers.

I had a claim on 14 October 2013 whereby my geyser was not pumping hot water. SBIB sends out not 1 but 2 incompetent plumbers to fix the problem and they both refused to work on it. After a week of bathing in the cold, I then got my own plumber to fix the problem.

I was charged R 1500 by this plumber, so I submitted the claim to SBIB and they want to reimburse me only R700 according to their rates. This is hogwash, I don't pay my premiums partially on a monthly basis, what is this?

Also, when signing up the contract I signed with Standard Bank Insurance Brokers. Now, I am dealing with an incompetent company called Izinga Access who does not respond to emails or take an interest in your issue.

So much Standard Bank for putting the customer first, with service like this you are proving day by day why people refer to you as "Beep Bank"

Very disappointed and extremely frustrated customer!!!
