No pre-appro application unless offer to purchase!

I have been a client of FNB for 22 years.

In 2010 started to work for myself.

In 2011 tried to apply for home loan but was told that I must have auditors reports (management accounts). Told to try again in 2 years time.

I now have the necessary documents and would like to establish whether FNB would now consider giving me a loan. Pamella from your call centre informs me that FNB will not help me with a pre-approval unless I have a purchase to offer.

My question is - must I now first find my dream house, waste the time of the seller and the agent since FNB may still turn down my application because of me not qualifying because I workl for myself.

Why can't you just tell me either tell me yes or no and then I will go and search for a house - SOMETHING THAT DOE SNOT TAKE AN HOUR OR SO!!!
