Unfair collection charges levied

My Wesbank account went into arrears and I am trying to catch up with the arrear payments. Unfortunately Wesbank puts through a collection charge of 10% on any payment I make to my account claiming that Collection Solutions, their collection agency, can levy these charges. At one point my debit order did not go off my account and I made a direct transfer to my account. Again there was a collection charge. I do not understand how they can put a collection charge on your account if no actual collection took place. I believe the use of the company Collection Solutions is a big to take advantage of the Act. If you pay one day late, Wesbank do not contact you, as any other credit provider would do, and supposedly "hand over" the collection to Collection Solutions. Why do they not contact you directly? They will send a SMS if your account is in arrears and they claim that the sending of a SMS is a legitimate collection activity which allows them to levy a charge against your account if you make a payment. In stead of assisting a client to get his account up to date one finds that you go further and further in arrears because of these charges.
