After having been an exemplary client of Wesbank for numerous years and at least 5 vehicles. I had an unforeseen financial situation, which meant that I needed to make an arrangement for my debit order to go through a couple of days later than normal. Not weeks, just a couple days. I contacted Wesbank and spoke to a lady, who assured me that a note would be made on the system. They did not contact me, I contacted them.
Today I received a call from their collections department, stating that my debit order was not honoured. After explaining the situation again to the lady. I was told that the information entered on the system by the previous lady was incorrect. which meant that they did not change the debit order date. And I am now liable for an arrears or collection penalty of ten per cent of the payment. There is nothing she can do about it. My vehicle is almost paid for, I cant wait. Wesbank has just lost a loyal customer for 10 %. Neither myself nor my business will deal with Wesbank again.
