Handing over a paid up account

My wife had an account with Direct Axis/ FNB which was handed over for collection. This account was paid up in full in 2011. The account has been since handed over to a second debt collection company although the debt was paid in full in 2011. My wife has sent both FNB and the collection agency proof of settlement yet the systems have not been updated. Today she received a summons for this account that is PAID UP IN FULL. FNB need to get act together and rectify this mess up. as this debt should never been handed over to a second collection agency.
