On 18 September I had R1, 000 withdrawn from by credit card account. I immediately tried to call Standard Bank to report the and on my third attempt finally managed to get hold of a person in the lost card division (ref.: 123063807). They stopped my credit card and put me through to the Department to open a case (ref: 6288046).

On 20 September another R1, 000 withdrawn from my savings account. I immediately contacted Standard Bank and stopped my debit card as well (ref: 123065184). The Department then explained that my card had not been stopped properly the first time and because all my accounts are linked the were able to still use the card to withdraw funds. They then opened a second case and promised to get back to me within 5 working days (ref: 3402253).

5 working days later and no contact, so I call the number I was given only to be told that my case has been closed - despite no one contacting me to explain. I have now been on hold for 28 minute (and counting) waiting for someone to answer the phone at admin.

R2, 000 plus over 150.00 in call charges and fees and hours on the phone - why do I bank with you?
