My credit card is flagged as being at certain merchants. Since Nov/Dec 2011 i have been unable to use my card - the transactions are cancelled by the merchant before the transaction can progress to the bank and doesn't even show up on my bank profile. I have had numerous new cards, i have had diagnostics run on my cards... my current card is only two months old and despite harassing Standard bank to resolve the issue; they assure me that my card and banking profile are problem/error free and it must be the merchants connection that times out, or is faulty. According to their systems the card is flagged as being fruadulent and only the bank can clear the errors. The bank insists it's the merchants. In the mean time, i am unable to use my credit card and specific merchants. the esasiet seems to be to just cancel the card - but i am paying fees on an account that is a problem, i have spent who knows how many hours trying to get this sorted, as well as paid for numerous new cards whilst the fault persists. Come on Standard Bank - after 24 years of banking with you, I expect far better!
