My father passed away in March, we requested a cremation, with his ashes to be returned to us as the family. Received the ashes, but did not open the box, until this past weekend when we undertook a journey to Durban, KZN to go scatter the ashes... only to go down to the beach open the cremation box, to discover to our utter DISGUST, SHOCK and HORROR that we had another gentleman's ashes in the box marked with my late fathers details. Never before have I or my family been so emotionally traumatised, not knowing if we would be able to ever locate my fathers ashes or if they had been scattered by the other family, who received them in error... a states sorry just does NOT cut it for me or my family, we are devastated and I demand some form of re-compensation for our emotional stress, cost of a trip for nothing and the damage it has done to us as a family!
