I have had an account with Standard Bank since I was 14, paid of a home loan and kept all my debts up to date. Just a few weeks ago, Standard Bank was trying to sell me more credit due to my good credit record. There was a muddle up at the beginning of the month where the amount to be debited to my credit card wasn't available on my cheque account.
I have since been bombarded with electronic voice messages telling me I must pay my credit. I refuse to be bullied like this. Every day, I get up to 8 electronic voice messages bombarding my voicemail about my credit card. I finally have access to pay the amount into my credit card, it has been deactivated. Years of accounts kept in good order, you are having hysterics within a week? You make it impossible for me to transfer the money into the account?
Is this a respectful way to treat a good and loyal customer? Seriously? I am supposed to take this treatment as if I am some kind of petty criminal you are hunting down? Do you think it is civilized behavior to send 8 messages a day as if I am too stupid to understand the first one?
This makes it clear what lurks behind your facade. I am seriously contemplating changing banks.
