On Saturday 14 September I went for lunch and the bill came to R250, when I tried to buy something this morning 17 September, the transaction was declined, I then logged on to my internet banking to discover that I am a R1400 in deficit on my account and that the amount that was deducted was R2194.50 instead of R250. I first thought that the waitress had made a mistake but when I phoned the bank they said that they had a system error and that large amounts were deducted from some clients accounts - the weirdest part is that I didn't receive an sms for this transaction, she also said that this was due to the system error but I received an sms for an amount I withdrew 3 minutes later. So my account now is in a deficit and my transactions are declined, the call centre agent said that this credit will only reflect in 24 hours - meaning that I don't have any money for 24 hours - she said she apologised that I wont have money for 24 hours, but suggest that I use my credit card in the meantime, which is actually high in transaction fees. This is really worrying!!
