Card transactions take 4 days before on statment

All card transactions (even ones on Nedbank POS devices) take up to 4 days to be deducted from your account and reflect on your internet banking. I have sent this complaint to Nedbank and there response (after following up with them 3 times) was the following: "Nedbank can only deduct the money from your account once the vendor had banked the transactions, so this is dependent on the vendor banking these transactions" However the money is reserved to that transaction till it is banked" this is how all banks work i was told. I posed the question then how is it that an account with any other banking institution in SA when i swipe and sign my card at any bank POS machine it reflects with in minutes the transaction and amount spent, adjusting my balance accordingly. No answer. I asked how is it Nedbank send me transactional SMS's when i spend at a vendor but they can not reflect that on my internet statement or reflect an actual balance. Again no answer. They advised they are working on improving this and ended the call there. I have now spent a weekend and shopped at several different stores. I need to check what my balance is and that there are no unknown transactions on my card.
