First National Bank
Authorisation incorrectly held for 4 months

Business & Finance

I was overseas in May and booked accommodation through [URL Removed] (well known established merchant). As part of their policy, a security deposit is held against the customer's card 24 hours prior to check in and voided 48 hours after check out.

An amount of R3138.61 for said security deposit was held against my cheque card on 21 May and despite the amount being voided by the merchant on 29 May 2013, FNB have continued to hold this amount against my card.

It only came to my attention today, when perusing my online profile. I don't think I need to be verbose in saying how absolutely appalling and unprofessional this is.

I have lodged a dispute with FNB but would like this escalated ASAP. 4 months is a long time to wait for an authorization to be cancelled.
