6 week delay in terminated account of deceased

Business & Finance

I have been appointed executor of the estate of my dear mother, Marlene J De Coito ID3603020035083, by the courts. i visited FNB Centurion branch on 3 August 2013 and was dealt with by a Consultant named Emma. All forms were completed and documents submitted including a letter of authority appointing me as the Executor of her estate. Forms were emailed, by Emma, to the Deceased estates department. I was told that the process will take 2 to 3 weeks and that I will be contacted shortly. i was told that i can not contact Deceased Estates directly. I was never contacted and 4 weeks later on the 2 September I went back to the Centurion branch. A Consultant named, Tiaan, was helpful and tried to assist. He contacted Deceased Estates and discovered that the Estate received little attention. According to them a letter of authority was not received. It was then resent. I was then told that the process will now take 3 weeks from 2 September 2013. I do not think that this is good service especially under these circumstances. A good friend of mine had this process done the same day at another well known bank. My advice is if you a likely to pass away then avoid FNB.
