On the morning of 17 August 2013, my card was retained by the atm, i tried to press cancel as it didn't request for my pin but a voucher, it then went to temporary out of order and then completely off. i sped off to the nearest standard bank (Southgate). within 5 minutes i was at Southgate branch and R5000.00 was withdrawn, i requested assistance from a Ms Khan, but she had alot of questions to ask and while she was interogating me a further R1317.80 was withdrawn. Eventually the report was filed and i have been trying to get hold of the Department for the past 2 weeks with no answer.
I went back to Southgate branch to enquire/follow up on the investigation and to find out when will i be refunded as this was not my fault. i bank the money for safe keeping and this was entirely not my fault. i was told that this might take up to 6 months. i am stuck as most of accounts are unpaid and not sure how i will survive for the next month.
