Outsurance cancels policy after updating details

My name is Shallan Govender and I have a life insurance policy with Outsurance for over three years now. They always advise that we need to update details and I called in today to update my job title. The call centre agent Michelle updated my details and advised that after updating this the policy cancelled. This is ridiculous just by updating my details my policy gets cancelled. If anything happens to me my family will not be covered. This is utter bull. Is this how loyal customers get treated? I asked to speak to a Manager apparently he/she is in a meeting. I was advised it was a system error and that the insurance needs to go back to the medical underwriter and was not sure when they will get back to me. I have paid my installments on time and the most recent debit has already been submitted for debit order this weekend. I will not tolerate this poor customer service. I have also contacted the Ombudsman because this is just disgusting. I did not know updating details will cause such havoc. I need assistance immediately as life insurance is a necessity.
