After being an FNB customer for going on 20 plus years & having never been late with a payment I have been treated like absolute trash after not paying an instalment of R591! In the last 3 months I have made a total of R13 000.00 worth of payments into the account which far far exceeded any amount that was due & after not paying one instalment of R591, I have been charged a late payment fee & FNB have now revoked my credit facility! There was no phone call to inquire as to why, there was no hint of a reminder that I hadn't paid & after dealing with the Credit Card Division yesterday, there was no assistance forthcoming either! So much for "How can we help you? "
The call centre agent, who is not even empowered to send an email to you (no paper trail is how FNB like it!) was insistent that you cannot pay a credit card in advance & so FNB didn't recopgnise all those previous funds as part of any instalment due. So, in a nutshell, if FNB don't recognise an advance payment, they should then recognise those funds as part of a credit balance & I'd like my interest please! I'd also like the Penalty Fee reversed and compensation for not having my credit facility when I needed it today!
