Useless customer security offering

I am writing this on behalf of my mother who is a senior citizen and is struggling to deal with the technology you feel should be equipping her. Yesterday (11 August) morning at around 11:30am, she went to draw out money at the Standard Bank ATM at Bel Air shopping centre (Northriding). Someone was using your ATM to commit on people by having their cards swallowed and who knows what else. My mother, immediately reported that her card got swallowed and needed the card to be stopped. It took her 5 CALLS before I stepped in and got a reference number (3344237) at 14h15.By that point, she mentioned that only R29 had been taken from her account. However, after stopping the card, someone was able to draw out of her account at 19h12 on 11 August. Now I don't care what auditing process you need to do but my mother is a pensioner. You will find a way before Friday to reverse that transaction and you in your spare time can figure out how they managed to get the money off her account. This clearly shows that you cannot offer your customers a safe and secure service - and we will be shopping around for a new bank that can be TRUSTED.
