I opened an account on-line. As it was a Friday afternoon - I did not expect a reply until the Monday. On the Monday I contacted the Call Centre - they upgraded my account and promised me that I would have my account number by the end of that day. After three days - I am still waiting. I took the afternoon off work as I was promised that I would have the account - so that I could begin to switch debit orders, salary etc. I am very disappointed that I could do nothing. Their so called "system" is slow I was told? How slow? - So slow that I am now nearly waiting a week for an account number - what a poor start!!! Don't open accounts on line - rather go into the branch - opening online is like going into a black hole of nothingness!!
