I went to the Nicolway branch on 4 August 2013 and requested printed bank statements. I was told that I would be charged for these statements since they are additional and that the "statements were posted to me". The staff nor the bank system could provide proof that the statements were in fact posted to me [confirmation of my postal address is not proof that statements were posted]. A query was logged with the Nedbank contact centre [ref 64003314] to confirm/deny whether the statements were in fact posted to me. I was told by a bank consultant [Mirandah] the query will be resolved within 72 hours but has been escalated [I have not heard anything since].

The bank manager was rude and unprofessional. He was very insulting and made several accusations against me. He went to the extent of "banning" me from the Nicolway branch: he stated that "his" security will not allow me into the branch in future. He also mentioned he will contact the call centre to get Nedbank to close my accounts. I did not retaliate but stayed calm and professional.

Is this how a Nedbank branch manager should behave? Are the Nedbank records flawed and/or inaccessible?
