I did a vehicle insurance claim on my Mutual & Federal policy, and less than a month after the claim, they informed me via the Broker " Indwerisk " that my car insurance premium will increase by R1000, and this was only 5 days before the month end in which the new premium would be deducted from my account.
I find the notice period totally unacceptable and inconsiderate to the customers budget. I eventually sent a letter on cancellation and found new insurance cover with another company for my vehicle effective 01 Aug 2013, but this inconsiderate company Mutual & Federal " who doesn't give a about the customers monthly budget", did a double debit from my account of the old premium (R1553.83) their new premium (R2592.52) = R4146.35 . They don't consider that if you do a stop payment it reflects negatively on your credit scoring and also that the customer has risk on (Fund R/D) due to their huge double debit which would affect customer other debits, on top of this I also received my debit for the new insurance cover. As Mutual & Federal are providing a customer service, do they not consider customer first, or are they too selfish to the customer over.
