Over R4500 deducted from my account for no reason

My bank called about insufficient funds for debit orders in my account, although my salary had been deposited. Further phone calls revealed that a deduction of R4512 .41 had been made by Mutual & Federal My insurance premium is under R800

I called Mutual & Federal at 0860225563 and Katleho informed me that it was deducted in error and that she would forward it to the Accounts Dept.By the next day, when bank phoned about the penatlies again, a second call to Mutual & Federal revealed that it would take 5 days to refund the money. I asked that the matter receive urgent attention as it is now a week later and I have no money to live on! So far nothing has been actioned.

I now have penalties from other debit orders that could not be honoured, and, if I want the bank to reverse the Mutual & Federal debit, it will cost me a further R30, but I have to travel 240 km (return trip) to get it done at the nearest branch, without the funds in my account to do so.

I am angry that Mutual & Federal did this, as I did not authorise this deduction and I question their slow response after 2 phone calls. I expect them to cover costs incurred
