Trying to collect money from written off debt

My lawyer recently did a full credit report for me and we found that I had defaults with my loans from African Bank where the debt was written off.
My lawyer informed me that if they have listed the debt as written off I cannot have the default removed. Yesterday African Bank tried to debit my account again. They have been trying every month and the debt has been written off for a while now. I will be consulting with my lawyer today to take legal action against them as it is HIGHLY unethical and against the law to do this. African Bank please also note that I will not answer my phone for your harassing phone calls as I want written proof of our correspondence for myself as it is clear that you do not deal above the table.
