Insensitive Attitude Towards Elderly Man

Business & Finance

I was recently in a long queue at the tellers when I witnessed one've the tellers treating an elderly man very unkindly. I don't know this teller's name but it was a young, coloured female sitting at the last till on the right. The customer was an elderly man who could not hear very well and did not have a good understanding of what was required by him. He shyly asked her to repeat certain things as seemed to not comprehend well enough. This teller, spoke so loudly to him and shouted repeatedly "your signature does not match the one when your account was open". Of course this had to be embarrassing for anyone, leave alone an elderly man. Once this was rectified, she again, kept talking to him with a bad tone and what made me feel terrible was the fact that he kept apologising to her when she got upset. He still left with a smile saying "I'm so sorry for troubling you.". In response, all she said was "no problem." but there was no smile or eye contact when she did so. It was clear to see how embarrassed and little he felt when he had to turn around and walk past the rest of us. This upset my whole day and I am still so bothered by it. I would not like my dad being treated that way.
