Smart Insurance is a do not use it

A while back I tried to claim for minor damage to my car caused in a parking lot i.e. scratches and a small dent. The agent on the other side asked me to list all other damages to my car, which occurred on separate occasions not related to that incident, without warning me that they then require you to add them all together thus exceeding the R 2, 000 limit. Now they basically got out of having to cover any of the minor bumbs and scratches on my car that occurred over time, which means i am out of pocket for the repairs plus the R 4000!!! i paid Smart Insurance to maintain my car in 'showroom' condition. I got no value whatsoever form their service and would urge anyone considering going with this type of insurance to simply not go there. You are much better off keeping the few thousand rand you would have paid them and using it to fix these small details yourself.
