Customer Assist - sorry we're too busy

SB Home Loans directed me to the Standard Bank Customer Assist in order to do a debt consolidation into my home loan. In their welcome letter sent on the 12 of June - the stated "We will give you feedback within 15 business days."

I called after 15 working days - but they said they've got a backlog, and will call me soon. Today I called again after 30 working days (6 weeks) - and still they say they have a backlog. Apparently they will start with the June applications soon.

When I asked Zanele to put me through to someone that could give me more information about the delay - she refused - advising I should send an email (which they are obviously too 'busy' to answer).

Dealing with clients like this, shows a complete lack of integrity and consideration and mismanagement. If you can't handle the volumes of applications, then you either make a plan to process it faster - or you let people that you can't help them, or that it's likely to take months, not days.

I could have looked other solutions in the meanwhile which could have saved me thousands of rands of unnecessary interest.

Standard Bank is not interested - I will look for a banking provider elsewhere.
