My car, a 2008 VW POLO 1.6 Comfortline hatch has been insured with Affinity since I bought it in March 2013, at a cost of R670 per month. The car was on the 29th June in Kempton Park and recovered the same evening by the tracking company, however, the inside was badly damaged, the car was stripped to shreds. I lodged a claim with with Affinity, CLAIM NO: AFF165872/1 on the 1st July 2013. Since lodging the claim, I have never received a single phone call from Affinity, instead, I have made over TWENTY phone calls to Affinity, some of them being answered by machines and eventually being cut off, and when I eventually go through to someone, I am told various stories. To this day, I still haven't been afforded a courtesy car, even though I am covered for such, I spend R120 per day on transport as I work in a shift environment. it's been 22 days since I lodged the claim, but absolutely nothing has been done. This morning, I again contacted Affinity to follow up on my claim, and was told that they are awaiting the panelbeater (The Motor Accident Group in Booysens), to tell them how much access I need to pay, before they can begin repairs or give me a courtesy car.
