Outsurance
PASSING OFF ILLEGAL SUPPLIER

Business & Finance

Late last year the pipe leading from my Geyser to supply pipes burst. I called Help-at-home from Outsurance and they sent their preferred Plumber - I had no say in the matter. I was advised that I needed to replace all pipes with copper piping at a cost of R15k. I could not afford that amount of money and trusted that the plumbers were replacing the pipe with a more affordable option. Unfortunately the same thing happened on 4th July, causing damage to my ceiling and carpets. Because it was within a year, I could not call Help-at-home again so I called my own plumber. My plumber replaced the pipe and advised that Polycop pipe had been used which is not suitable for hot water - they replaced the Polycop pipe with Cobra multi layer pipe which is an alternate to copper piping. I then called Outsurance to advise of the damage and to submit the costs from my plumber. I have been telling my story to 5 different advisor/managers, supplied a report from my plumber and now they want to insinuate that their plumber did no wrong and that they cant be held responsible - leaving me with the bill of R2661.90, no cover for damage to my ceiling or carpets and no solution.
