Car was repaired instead of been written off

On the 24th March 2013 i had an accident, i mentioned to my insurance that the car seemed like a write off but their assessor thought otherwise and mentioned to me that he has repaired worse cars than mine. to date the insurance have stand by the assessors decision and recommendation in that the car should be repaird. as we speak the body has been repaired but the car doesnt start, The car was further send to VOLVO to attend to the problem, Volvo even today wouldnt specifically tell what is the problem with the car.

My concerns herein is that this car would have written off to avoid such but instead it was not whereby the insurance relied one person's recommendation which is the assessor in this case.
i need the insurance to writte off that car and they'll decide what to do with it in order for me to get another car.
